Well, here's one you won't find every day. This 2004 Pontiac Sunfire is a one owner, corrosion free, Southern California car with only 32,067 actual, original miles. Of course, a Sunfire is not a collector car or high up on the 'gotta have it' list but think about it, what's a base model 'new car' worth these days (if you can even get one with the current shortage)? The cheapest car in the US is a Chevy Spark that will run you ,500 plus tax, title and license fees, OR you can buy a car with hardly any miles that will be easier to maintain, cheaper to license and insure and you won't be driving a 'micro-car'. Now, this car is not perfect, it shows a bit of aging and has a few 'bumps and bruises' but it's a really cool car that you don't see many of anymore. It has a new windshield, new tires, new Optima 'Yellow Top' battery, a power moonroof and a sweet custom audio system. Please take the time to review the 85 full sized, high resolution photos below including several of the undercarriage that show the car has no rust issues and has never been damaged.
The body of the car is straight, there are a few dings but absolutely no major dents or scratches
, there is a scuff down low on the right side of the front spoiler but that's about it
. I refinished the roof, rear spoiler and rear bumper due to sun-fade. There is still a bit of fade in a few spots as I have depicted below, I did not want to paint too much of the car as it is original. Overall, the car looks great as you can see in the photos, shiny and very sharp, there is a scuff down low on the right side of the front spoiler. There are a few scuffs in the chrome wheel caps and the car has brand new tires all the way around. Glass is great with a new windshield, the aftermarket tint is okay, showing just a bit of aging. All lights and lenses are intact showing nicely and all are in good working order including the factory fog lamps.
The interior is very clean and the previous owner was a non-smoker so there are no burns or any hints of tobacco odor. The only thing not in great shape is the plastic center defrost vent, it has been slightly pushed up from the dash, not very noticeable but wanted to mention it. Carpets are clean, seats are in nice shape, headliner is all intact including the sunroof shade and visors. The car has a cool audio system as well including a Sony 'detachable face' head unit, 2 amps and a Phoenix Gold subwoofer box with two 10" subwoofers. Everything works on the car including the power moonroof, gauges and nice, cold A/C.
Mechanically this car is what you would expect from a lower mile vehicle. The 2.2L Ecotec engine is smooth and while not a 'powerhouse', it moves this car down the freeway with ease. Transmission shifts correctly and the car is actually kind of fun to drive, it holds the road nicely. Suspension and steering feels tight with no rattles, shimmies or shakes. Also noteworthy, there are no 'service' or 'check engine' lights on in the dash and the car has not exhibited any leaks or overheating issues.
So, what's a cool, super low mile sport coupe worth? Well, as I mentioned earlier, the cheapest new car you can buy is around ,000 and in contrast, an absolute piece of junk that starts, runs and drives with cold A/C is a minimum of ,500 in today's market so you honestly have to place this one somewhere in the middle. Any car lot in the nation would hang a price tag of 95 on it but I'm going to let you eBay buyers have at it with this 5 day NO RESERVE auction.
