This classic circuit has been expertly built with NOS BC183 silicon transistors.  These transistors are individually tested, measured, and paired to ensure optimal operation. Transistor measurements are recorded on the inside of each pedal.
The PedalFarmer has added a
BOTTOM
knob that allows you to dial in just the right amount of low frequency for your rig and sound. This makes the F1 well suited for humbucker equipped guitars, as well as single coils. This control also opens up sounds previously unavailable from the classic circuit. The circuit is exactly the same as the classic original when the
BOTTOM
control is at its maximum setting.
The addition of a BIAS knob allows the user to find exactly the sound they are looking for. Lower bias voltages yield more spitting fuzz, while higher voltages can smooth out the fuzz and create more asymmetry to the sound. The F1 user’s manual provides handy information to help you navigate this feature.
The F-1’s
FUZZ
control has been modified to provide a better balance to the fuzz range across the sweep of the knob. The lower half of the control almost puts you in overdrive territory.
The
VOLUME
control has been extended to provide a louder output signal.
Due to the modifications of the fuzz and volume controls, the F1 can be used as a boost for an overdriving amp by turning the fuzz all the way down and the volume up. It’s a wonderful and unique alternative to a tube screamer when used this way.
There is a knob on the inside of the pedal that dampens the input signal, slightly cleaning up the fuzz. This is an excellent way to set the maximum gain of the pedal to your taste and application.
Other features include top mounted jacks, 9v battery or standard DC adapter operation, and true bypass switching.
The F1 is also available with BC182 Transistors or a BC182/BC183 Combo, upon request.
